Head of Drug and Food Control Agency of RI Kustantinah explains, electric cigarettes as dangerous as regular cigarettes burned.

"Maybe people think cigarettes contain nicotine electric only, and if cigarettes are other ingredients," said Chief BPOM Kustantinah RI in Jakarta, Friday, August 13, 2010.
Kustantinah have explained in an electric cigarette nicotine liquid with a solvent propylene glycol, glycerin or glycol Dieter. If nicotine and a solvent is heated it will produce nitrosamines. "This nitrosamine compounds that cause cancer."
Kustantinah added, all electric cigarettes that circulate in Indonesia is illegal and dangerous to health. Around the world, he also revealed that no single country that approved the electric cigarette.

"Though China is finding an electric cigarette in 2003. However, China's government has banned its circulation," he explains. For that BPOM with the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Industry and Trade Ministry will examine more deeply about the electric cigarette.
