Moscow, : Russian authorities are investigating how a woman in the Urals region of Moscow managed to keep what is regarded as the biggest Siberian tiger in the world. Authorities announced on Wednesday that the woman has been keeping the animal without a permit.The country’s authorities began the investigation into the case after they realized that a woman at the city of Yekaterinburg. The animal is named Amur tiger after the famous Siberian River that is located in the region.
The city’s prosecutors released a statement on Wednesday and said that, “The woman kept the animal without authorization and without respect for sanitary regulations”. It is believed that as the next step, the authorities will seize the animal from the woman and decide next what to do with it.
It is estimated that Russia is home to some 450 Siberian tigers. It is not known how the animal got into the possession of the woman but the authorities promise that they will unravel that mystery in the coming days. The animal is on the list of Russia’s protected species and their hunting has been banned in the country since 1947 when it was realized that the animal count has fallen.Source(THAINDIAN NEWS)
