Ferrari Modulo Revival | Car Design

Ferrari Modulo Revival | Car Design
Many would simply fling their eyebrows high when told that the original Ferrari 512 S Module by Pinninfarina was actually unveiled at the 1970 Geneva Auto Show. And now after 40 years, the modernistic version of this already futuristic car is back to tickle our sci-fi senses albeit in a more sustainable manner. Though strictly at a conceptual stage, this remarkably avant-garde conception was contrived by a design team of Emmanuel Laffon de Mazieres and Bastien Petelot.

Infused with a sleek demeanor, classy bearing and a fervently innovative technology, the Ferrari Modulo of the 21st Century will certainly be a supercar to behold. The inconspicuous wheels will be ’sunk in’ within the body frame like the original design; supposedly, for enhancement of rolling efficiency and airflow. On the other hand, the improved (if we daresay that) styling is quite evident from the roof of this version, which completely incorporates a swanky glass facade (in comparison to the original 70’s model). The linearity of the astute form along the measured edges have been specifically dealt with to accentuate upon the aerodynamic quality of the car.

    According to the designer:

“Everything on this car is designed around aerodynamism and reduced rolling resistance. The extremely low profile, the controlled airflow, the sharp back-end edge help reduce drag and improve performance.”

Now coming to the part that interests us Ecofriend folks, the fascinating supercar will actually flaunt an all-electric engine that alludes to the very low emission side of affairs. So, if we ever get a chance to roll around the city blocks in this ultra-futuristic green monster, we would gleefully accept it with our bowing heads.

Ferarri Eternita | Car Design

    Ferarri Eternita - Sport Car
Ferrari launched a contest in which it was seeking car designs that would have optimum fuel efficiency as well as performance. The winning entry was by a group of South Korean students from Hongik University, Seoul, that came out with the concept of a hydrogen hybrid vehicle called ‘Ferrari Eternita’.

The three designers – Kim Cheon Ju, Lee Sahnseok and Ahn Dre created a formidable design that topped amongst the 400 entries to the competition. This futuristic car is low-lying and almost touches the ground with its rear wheels incorporated into the main body of the car in order to lessen drag. The Eternita is powered by a sustainable hydrogen-hybrid engine that would make this swanky sports car a low emission vehicle!

Earlier, Porsche also came out with its hybrid car models and Ferrari also seems to be keen to create a sustainable vehicle that is eco friendly in nature. Eternita is not yet slated to be rolled out next by Ferrari – however, the stylish design and name of the car surely sound “Ferrari-isque”! However, car enthusiasts would surely await this one should Ferrari decide to go ‘green’ and initiate production of the clean Eternita.

Ferrari Xezri Concept Car by Samir Sadikhov

Ferrari Xezri Concept Car by Samir Sadikhov

Ferrari Xezri Concept Car by Samir Sadikhov: Cars with latest modern designs lure today’s car enthusiasts. The premier car makers are in competition with each other to bring fresh and new ideas which are then incorporated while designing the cars. That’s why world’s top car making giants are looking for talents who can come up with innovative and fresh ideas. Ferrari, a car manufacturer, has introduced three new talented car designers to the world who have finished three year post-diploma course in transportation design in the academic year 2010-2011 from Design School of Turin IED. The final year projects which were done by these talented students were reviewed by Ferrari minutely before rewarding them for their works. Samir Sadikov, a resident of Azerbaijan, who has designed Ferrari Xezri on the principles of “Flexible aerodynamics” won the second prize.

This newly designed sports car has been built keeping the flow and dynamics of wind in mind. The specialty of this design is that the rear wing of the car which is placed horizontally on the roof activates automatically and absorbs wind from outside to cool the engine when the car achieves a super speed of 200km/hr and higher.

This prize is the second win for Turin IED which has previously won first position in the same contest in 2005. Seeing the car which is designed after principles of flexible aerodynamics by Samir, zipping through the deserted flyovers with ease like red fire in great speed, the CEOs of Ferrari Amedeo Felisa, Paolo Pininfarina and Flavia Manzoni are all praise for it. They even say that the design of this new car reminds them of designs of some old Ferrari.

This new car design along with two other award winning projects i.e. 540 Pegaso and Ethesian by fellow students Giuseppe Ceccio, Giacomo Pierine Matteo politano and Alessandro Nardolillo will be displayed at an exhibiton at their school’s headquarters until the end of September.

Ferrari Car | Ferarri Zobin Concept by Siamak Ruhi Dehkordi

Ferrari Car | Ferarri Zobin Concept by Siamak Ruhi Dehkordi

Ferrari Car | Ferrari Zobin Concept by Siamak Ruhi Dehkordi: The Ferrari Zobin concept is a creation of Iranian engineer Siamak Ruhi Dehkordi. The defining feature of the Ferrari Zobin is its diminutive size. At just 1855 mm (73 inches) wide, and 4114 mm (162 inches) long the Zobin is over half a metre (nearly 2 foot) shorter than a Ferrari Enzo.Inside the Ferrari Zobin is a single, central seating layout designed to as closely as possible recreate the feeling of being in a F1 race car.

The exterior design of the concept is also heavily influenced by the design of Formula 1 cars, from the open front wheels and stylized headlight mountings, to the roof top air intake and rear air diffuser. Powering the Ferrari Zobin concept is a compact engine positioned behind the cockpit.

Ferrari Car | Ferarri FSX Concept by Paul Kim

Ferrari Car | Ferarri FSX Concept by Paul Kim
Ferrari Car | Ferarri FSX Concept by Paul Kim: The Ferrari FSX (Ferrari Sedan Xperiment) is a concept by Paul Kim, a graduate of the Academy of Art University in San Fransisco. The Ferrari FSX is a four-door sedan designed to fit neatly into the Ferrari lineup. The FSX was, as are most Ferrari vehicles, influenced by the numerous successes of the Formula 1 Ferrari team. The concept would be a flagship model powered by a mid-mounted V12 engine.

Ferrari Car | Ferarri FSX Concept by Paul Kim
The intended market for the Ferrari FSX concept would be anyone who loves to go on road trips with friends and family with the thrill and pleasure of a race car, while not having to worry about lack of room or seats. The sheer power and energy of a naturally aspirated mid-mounted V12 reving closely behind the rear passengers would make it anything but a boring ride in the back seat. Aside from the stunning styling which goes along way to hiding the four-door layout, the FSX features some design elements which are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The car utilizes floating A and C pillars which direct the airflow around the top of the car and funnel it into the engine bay helping to keep the V12 cool.

Ferrari Car | Ferarri FSX Concept by Paul Kim
Air is also passed through the pivoting rear spoiler to provide additional downforce, this spoiler also acts as an airbrake. At the front of the Ferrari FSX is an adjustable front splitter which channels air into the split radiators mounted on either side of the car. The splitter also provides additional downforce over the front axle while helping smooth the airflow around and under the car.
